That’s A Wrap – Week 15

Our Long-planned Arm Westling Documentary is Finally Started, and Some Local Nurses Did Good!

Delaware Today called on us to produce the event videos for their 10th annual Excellence in Nursing Awards. It was an honor to feature these heroes in our community and have them in the studio.

Post Production on a full feature-length documentary officially began called Hands Down – An Arm Wrestling Docu Journey. The journey takes us to Budapest, Hungary…  Romania, Poland, and beyond give us a glimpse into the world of arm wrestling and features an individual with spina bifida overcoming all odds.

We also did a few site visits for upcoming Live Stream Productions, continue to pump out edits for the Bringing Values to Life series for the fun dept., and add graphic elements to THE TILLY ESCAPE video for the Seaford Museum, and enjoyed another CREATIVE, PRODUCTIVE and INSPIRING week.

Stay Awesome… and Stay Tuned!

That’s A Wrap – Week 14

99 Days In; 266 Days Left To Complete the 2022 KC To-Do List…

It’s been a busy few weeks here at the office! We’ve finally wrapped up a few big projects that have been in the works for months, and we’re excited to see the final results. We’ve also kicked off a few new campaigns and initiatives that we’re hopeful will be just as successful. Of course, with all of this activity comes a lot of work. But it’s the good kind of work that keeps us busy, engaged, and excited about what we’re doing. We’re looking forward to seeing what the rest of the quarter has in store!

The fun dept’s Bringing Values to Life series is in full swing and posting across platforms on their YouTube Channel, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram profiles.  The series focuses on how the company brings its values to life through everyday interactions and decision-making. The series highlights how the company’s values play out in everyday work life through real stories from employees.

From the very beginning, The Fun Dept has been built on a foundation of strong values. These values guide everything we do, from the way we interact with our team members to the way we serve our clients. In “Bringing Values to Life”, we take a closer look at how those values play out in real-life situations. We explore how it shapes the way we operate as a company. We also hear from team members about how our values have impacted their lives both inside and outside of work. If you’re interested in learning more about how The Fun Dept brings its values to life, be sure to check out the series!

“Tough Conversations”

It can be tough to have difficult conversations – whether it’s with a loved one, a friend, or even a co-worker. Nobody wants to be the person who stirs up drama, but sometimes these conversations are necessary. That’s where Monique Helstrom comes in. She’s set to launch a new course that will help us all tackle tough conversations head-on. You can learn more about that at moniquehelstrom.com

We put the finishing touches on the pilot episode of the #MILLSUMMIT Podcast hosted by Blake the brain and are scheduling Episode 2.

As the saying goes, April showers bring May flowers. But April showers aren’t bad either – just take a look at these photos by the Brandywine River. The team caught some amazing shots this week! They remind us that even though the weather might not always be perfect, there is always something beautiful to appreciate. Even though we might be looking forward to the warmer weather and brighter days of May, let’s not forget to appreciate the beauty that April brings. After all, it’s only here for a short time… So next time you find yourself caught in a rain shower, remember that May flowers are on their way!

As new projects develop and adventures begin we are thankful for another PRODUCTIVE, INSPIRING, and CREATIVE Week.

Stay Awesome and Stay Tuned!

That’s A Wrap – Week 13

92 Days In And We’re Just Getting Started!

As we close out the first quarter of 2022, we can’t help but look back at all we’ve accomplished over the last 13 weeks.

It’s hard to believe that we’re already a quarter of the way through the year. It seems like only yesterday that we were making New Year’s resolutions and vowing to turn over a new leaf (and spring cleaning!) And yet, here we are 13 weeks later with (hopefully) a few less pounds and a few more dollars in the bank! As we look back at all we’ve accomplished, we can’t help but feel proud of everything we’ve achieved. From personal milestones to professional achievements, there’s been a lot to celebrate! Of course, not everything has been perfect; we’ve had our share of challenges and setbacks, but we’ve faced them head-on and come out as victors! And now as we move to the second quarter, we’re more determined than ever to achieve our goals and make this year a success! (Just like what we did last year!)

Nick is Back

Nick, the Godfather of Fun was back in to shoot the last of The Fun Dept’s “Bringing Values to Life” Series Volume One. He was in high spirits and is more enthusiastic than ever. He is on the mission to spread fun and laughter in the workplace, and we can say he’s doing a great job! He’s always happy to oblige. With Nick, we are definitely on a treat. We’re all looking forward to seeing the final installment for the first volume. Break a leg, Nick!

More Coming Soon…

Interest for upcoming projects kept pouring in, and we even snuck in a last-minute shoot with our friends from our research and consulting group, Creative Class out of Colorado and London. It was a blast, as always, and we’re so happy to have such talented friends on our network. It’s always exciting to work with new people from various walks of life and explore a different universe of creative ideas. We’re already looking forward to our future collaborations!

In the meantime, we’ve got our hands full with all of the exciting new projects in the works. As you can see, we’ve been very “happy-busy” lately!

Say Hello to Quarter 2!

And just like that, another Creative, Inspiring, and Productive week closes out the First Quarter.

We’ve produced a wide range of content this quarter and helped our dear clients promote their events, live stream their presentations, and raise funds for a greater cause. We’re truly proud of what we’ve accomplished so far and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for us!

And just like that, another Creative, Inspiring, and Productive week closes out Quarter Number 1 filled with projects ranging from commercial videos, music videos, personal branding videos, TikToks, event promotional videos, live streams, fundraising videos, TedX Presentations, industry training videos, virtual presentations, employee engagement videos and more.

Stay Awesome and Stay Tuned!

That’s a Wrap – Week 12

Week 12 Brought Drama, Fun, a Little Spring Cleaning And We Smell Steak In The Wilmington Air

This week was a busy one for The Fun Department, as we shot more video content for their upcoming info-marketing series, Bringing Values to Life. The series is scheduled to debut on April 1st, 2022, and it will showcase the importance of living life with integrity.

Nick Gianoulis is known as the Godfather of Fun for good reason. He has a natural ability to make any situation more enjoyable, and his infectious laughter is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Nick is also a master of the improvisational arts, and he’s always game for trying something new. Whether we’re brainstorming ideas for a client project or just goofing around during a break, working with Nick is always a blast!

The Big Dill

If you were in downtown Wilmington, Delaware, you may have noticed a GIANT PICKLE near our studio on Market Street. Well, that’s Dilly from The Big Dill, and we were recording TikToks to break the internet and assist in the promotion of their social media material.

Shining Spring Cleaning!

There’s something about the start of a new season that makes us want to declutter and start fresh. Maybe the warmer weather and longer days make us feel like we can finally tackle that pesky project we’ve been putting off. Or maybe it’s the promise of new beginnings that comes with springtime. Whatever the reason, there’s no better time than now to do some much-needed spring cleaning. We threw away some of our superfluous stuff to make place for improvements!

Wilmington Drama League

We also helped with the lighting design for the Wilmington Drama League‘s current production of August Osage County. Though we are not trained professional actors, we like to think of ourselves as “theater aficionados.” And what theater-goer doesn’t enjoy a nice, dimly lit room?  The end result is a lighting design that perfectly complements the play’s tone and themes. We’re extremely proud of our work, and we’re looking forward to seeing how audiences react to it. Break a Leg!

Bardea Steak on the Rise!

We’re keeping a close eye on our friends at Bardea Steak‘s progress, and it appears that they are making great strides toward opening! Located in the heart of downtown, the sleek and modern steakhouse has been under construction for months. However, it appears that the wait is almost over, as Bardea Steak is now entering its final stages of development. Every foodie in Delaware is so excited for sure!

Week 12 was again another week of inspiration, creativity, and productivity. Keep being awesome, and we’ll see you next week!

Stay Awesome and See You Next Week!

That’s A Wrap – Week 11

Week 11: Food, Music, Fun, and Empowerment.

Music for Liberia!

L.I.B and Moontown are on a mission to offer amazing music and opportunity to the people of Liberia. They were recently back in the King Creative studio producing music and capturing video content with Lady Mouthphy, Detrench, and Herb Middleton. These artists are all extremely talented and have a lot to offer the world of music. Keep an ear out for new music from L.I.B and Moontown!

Great Goodwill

When our friends from Goodwill of Delaware and Delaware County came in to record a piece for a launch video, they had a blast inspiring their employees to be genuine brand ambassadors through cooperation with the King crew. The team was so energized and excited to be a part of the project that they completely forgot about the cameras and acted natural. We are absolutely certain that this amazing footage will inspire others to be their best selves and have a lot of fun while doing it! Thank you, Goodwill, for reminding us all that life is meant to be enjoyed.

At Steak

Our adventure with Bardea continued, documenting their story as they work towards opening their latest concept, Bardea Steak, is slated to open soon, and we’ve been documenting their progress every step of the way. We’ve also been providing insight into the restaurant industry and celebrating their recent achievements. It’s been a lot of work, but it’s all been worth it. We can’t wait to see what Bardea Steak has in store for us! Vogue Magazine includes Bardea as one of the most anticipated restaurant openings of 2022. It’s been a long and winding journey with Bardea, but we’re finally nearing the finish line!

Real Teens…

Aside from that, the post-production crew was hard at work on projects like the WBC @ True Access Capitals Her Story Our History event videos, the Boys and Girls Clubs Real Teens… and, of course, the never-ending stream of cat videos. (We’re looking at you, Steve.) It’s a tough job, but somebody has to do it. And we’re always happy to oblige.

Real Problems…

Real problems don’t exist, right? If something’s bothering you, it’s probably just in your head. You’re probably just being oversensitive or reading too much into things. Just relax and stop making a big deal out of everything.

Wrong. Real problems are very real, and they can have a major impact on your life. Just ask Harriet Tubman.  She was born into slavery, and she endured years of physical and emotional abuse. But she didn’t let that stop her from fighting for her freedom. And once she finally escaped, she didn’t just sit back and enjoy her newfound liberty. She dedicated her life to helping others escape from slavery too.

And so we did a recap of our recent Harriet Tubman event, Calling On Harriet, as well as a Real Solutions Video.

Thank you for helping us get through another week that was inspiring, creative, and productive. Keep being awesome, and we’ll see you next week!

Stay Awesome and See You Next Week!

That’s A Wrap – Week 10

Week 10 – Impactful and Productive. As Bruce Said… “Fulfilling”!

Millionaire Delaware

Our team got behind DoMore24DE and the LLS DE Students of the Year campaign this week in a big way, raising a total of 3.2 million dollars. We’re pretty stoked about it! But honestly, we could not have done it without the amazing support of our community. From donations to volunteer hours, everyone came together to help us reach our goal. We are so grateful for all the support! Now let’s keep up the good work and make even more progress toward our goals! Together we can make a difference!

Jackie Murray for Harriet Tubman

To pay tribute to Harriet Tubman, we snuck Jackie Murray, star of the Calling on Harriet initiative, into the Recording Studio to record a few Spirituals. We figured that if anyone could do justice to the capturing the memory of such an inspiring woman, it would be Jackie. And we were right – her voice is absolutely mesmerizing. We even slipped her into the Recording Studio to lay down a few Spirituals while she was in town.

THE CONTENT, LIVE PERFORMANCE, IMPACT PANEL, and MEETING JACKIE were all big hits at the event. The CONTENT was awesome, the LIVE PERFORMANCE blew everyone away, the IMPACT PANEL left a lasting impression, and Calling On Harriet was an unforgettable experience. We’re so grateful to have captured these amazing performances, and we hope that they’ll help keep Harriet’s legacy alive for generations to come. Thank you, Jackie!

Boys And Girls Club Delaware

When it comes to promoting youth programs, the Boys & Girls Club knows that a little TLC goes a long way. That’s why we help them do some much-needed touch-ups on images used in their Youth of the Year Campaign and Student Advocates Program. We were tasked with repairing everything from color balance to cracked pixels, and the results were amazing! Thanks to the team’s hard work, the campaign and program are now looking better than ever. And who knows? Maybe one of us should have won the Youth of the Year award in the past!

Bringing Values to Life

Nick Gianoulis, the Godfather of Fun at The Fun Dept is known for his boundless energy and enthusiasm. He is the driving force behind a new video series called Bringing Values to Life, which will premiere in April. The series is designed to help employees to understand and live the company’s values. In each episode, Nick will visit a different department and interview employees about how they bring the company’s values to life in their work. The series will be full of Nick’s infectious energy and it is sure to inspire employees to live the company’s values every day.

Overall, it was a PRODUCTIVE, IMPACTFUL, and FULFILLING WEEK! Keep being awesome, and we’ll see you next week!

That’s A Wrap – Week 9

Week 9: Catching Up on 2022, and Prepping for Calling On Harriet

Studio-cation

This week was mostly spent in the studio, trying to fix all the mistakes from the previous weeks. It was a lot of hard work, but we’re glad to say that I finally got everything sorted out. Thankfully, the studio is a pretty calm place so it wasn’t too bad. But still, the team is looking forward to next week when we can start working on something new!

Do More, Collect More

The team set up shop for DoMore24DE, a whole day of giving meant to help nonprofits collect more money and engage new people. The team’s goal was to help them reach their goals by providing information and resources about how to best use social media to connect with potential donors.

The campaign runs for 24 hours, and during that time, people can donate as much money as they want. So far, the campaign has raised over a million dollars, and it is still going strong. The campaign is important because it helps to make a difference in the lives of many people in need.

See You!

The team did get out at some point, though – to enjoy the beautiful weather this week had to offer and to grab some footage in preparation for next Thursday’s Calling on Harriet preview and celebration. Come on by at 7 and enjoy the show for free!

Another week of creativity, inspiration, and productivity has come to an end. Keep up the good work, and we’ll see you next week!

That’s A Wrap – Week 8

Week 8 Gave Us 2-22-22, and A Trip To Nashville

Floyd 5D

Floyd Armstrong of the 5th Dimension may be used to the sunny skies of Southern California, but he’s not afraid to venture north for a little collaboration. The 5th dimension is an alternate universe where it is always sunny and there is never any snow. Recently, he made the trip up from San Diego to work with Herb Middleton on some original music. While he was in town, he also caught a few snowflakes – something that’s definitely not available in San Diego! Luckily, he had a great time and was able to experience a whole new side of the country. Who knows, maybe he’ll even come back for more snowflakes next winter!

Young and Photogenic

The team traveled to Dover to photograph the Boys and Girls Clubs of Delaware’s Youth of the Year Campaign. They got additional content for their Student Advocate Initiative, which is a big deal. The Youth of the Year Campaign is an annual event that celebrates the achievements of young people who have overcome enormous odds. It’s a big deal because it helps to raise awareness about the importance of supporting young people in our communities. The team got some great photos and they’re excited to share them with the world!

History is Her Story

You could cut the excitement with a knife at True Access Capital’s Women’s Business Center Her Story Our History Event last week. The room was packed with inspiring women being honored, and the air was thick with anticipation for the upcoming Harriet Tubman – Inspired Celebration on March 9th. Theater N will be hosting the event, and we are thrilled to be producing it. It promises to be an evening of stunning entertainment, enlightening conversation and empowering networking. So mark your calendars and keep an eye out for more details – we can’t wait to see you there!

Momentum has grown for a Harriet Tubman-inspired celebration coming up on March 9th at Theatre N that we are honored to be producing, so look out for that.

As we buttoned things up we appreciate another CREATIVE, PRODUCTIVE and INSPIRING week.

Stay Awesome and we will see you next week!

That’s A Wrap – Week 7

Week 7 Unites Artists From Atlanta, NYC, Richmond, and Liberia!

From Light to Music

One day, while we were shooting a throne made of light, an idea occurred to us: what if we could create a recording studio that brought together artists from all over the world? We could have musicians from Atlanta, Richmond, VA, and Liberia representing their respective scenes, and the result would be an explosive new sound.

So that’s exactly what we did. We reached out to our contacts in the music industry, and before long, we had assembled a team of talented engineers and producers. We then set up shop in a warehouse in Delaware, and the rest is history.

Goodwill, Renewed!

We’re thrilled to announce that Goodwill of Delaware has signed a new annual contract with our Employee Engagement section! This means that we will be able to continue doing the great work that we do in the community and making a difference in the lives of those we serve. This is a huge victory for the Fun Department, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our team. We are looking forward to continuing to work with Goodwill and making a positive impact in our community.

Talks & Vocals

We’re excited to announce that Esther Graham’s TEDx Talk has been approved and will be presented at TEDx Trinidad. DoMore24DE has been hard at work promoting and developing material for the campaign, and we’re grateful for your support. Backtrack Vocals, we appreciate your time and effort. We hope you’ll join us for the event and continue to support our work in the future. Thank you!

Thanks for sitting down with us, Backtrack Vocals, and sharing your story and talents.

Another fun, motivating, and productive week! Until then, be awesome!

Stay Awesome and Stay Tuned!

That’s A Wrap – Week 6

Week 6: Shooting The Pilot of The Frozen Farmer and Preparing For DoMore24DE

Real Problems, Real Solutions

We began the week in the studio, capturing video for Delaware’s Boys & Girls Clubs, featuring its youth champions discussing real-world concerns and offering real-world solutions. The results were incredibly powerful, and it was amazing to see the kids so engaged and articulate on such important topics. It was a great reminder of the vital role that organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs play in our communities. They provide a safe and fun place for the youth to spend their time, but they also help develop leadership skills and instill a sense of civic responsibility. We’re proud to have been able to work with such an outstanding organization, and we’re looking forward to sharing the finished material with everyone.

Prep Department

At The Fun Dept, we believe in the power of preparation. That’s why we set aside time for our staff, the fun department, and our clients to prepare and strategize. We want to make sure that everyone is on the same page and that everyone has a chance to contribute. That way, when it comes time to execute, we can all move forward together with confidence.

So whether we’re Back in the studio, assisting Esther Graham with the recording of a new TEDX talk, or getting ready to host Do’s forthcoming 24-hour live webcast, we always take the time to prepare. And that’s why we’re able to consistently produce great work that you’ll surely love.

The #MILLSUMMIT Podcast had us out on-location shooting and recording their pilot episode at The Frozen Farmer down in Bridgeville, DE. It was great to see Blake the Brain in action and hear Katey Jo Evans’ story firsthand.

Back in the studio at our home base we helped Esther Graham record and produce a new talk for an upcoming TEDx Trinidad event.

DoMore4DEL

Is your non-profit organization registered on DoMore4DEL yet? It is hard not to get excited to host the upcoming 24-hour live stream for #DoMore24DE on March 3 and 4, 2022. Last year we raised 1.9 million dollars for nonprofits throughout the State of Delaware. This year we are looking to break that number and help even more – will we break $2 million?

Looking back, it was a week of productivity, creativity, and inspiration.
