That’s A Wrap – Week 32

DBCC, AARP, DBT and #MILSUMMIT

Another meeting is down in the books for the team as the Delaware Black Chamber of Commerce plans for the second annual gala. With the 2nd year gala approaching in almost less than a month, we gathered to fine-tune details and provide an amazing event for everyone attending.

Next, the team worked together with Sheila from AARP of DE to make the final edits for the #MILLSUMMIT Podcast featuring Anthony Oneil and Blake “The Brain” Saunders. If you like a good conversation about financial literacy, relationships, and a plethora of other amazing topics, make sure you give the podcast a listen.

To end this week off, the team stayed focused on prepping and creating plans for upcoming projects like Delaware Business Times 40 Under 40 shoot, the SiloSmashers (in June, SiloSmashers was named to the Washington Post’s 2022 Top Workplaces!) shoot, and all things Fun Dept.

Thanks for checking us out through another Inspiring, Creative, and Productive Week!

#MILLSUMMIT, Tilly’s Escape, and Happy Birthday Mia!

Happy Birthday to you! This week the team did a birthday shoot for Karen Martinelli’s daughter Mia. Mia and her friends celebrated by walking the runway, wearing silly costumes, and dancing in a few of our studio setups. We sure had a blast!

The #MILLSUMMIT conference at The Queen was this week and it was eventful. #MILLSUMMIT attracts tons of professionals, tastemakers, leaders, and upcoming talent from all backgrounds who want to make an impact on the world and their communities. If you’ve missed out, make sure you attend next year!

We also had some planning to do this week for our meeting with the Network To Freedom to discuss the recent cut of our ‘Tilly Escape’ video. The Tilly Escape video project focuses on a woman named Tilly who was led by Harriet Tubman from slavery in Baltimore through Seaford, DE, on their way to freedom. The “Tilly Escape” will be premiered at the Governor Ross Mansion in Seaford, Delaware, on September 29th.

That’s A Wrap – Week 30

Goodwill, Mascots and Man City

To wrap up the Man City summer tour we traveled up to the historic Lambeau Field in Green Bay. We cheered, celebrated, and engaged with fans while Man City took on FC Bayern Munich. This was the first ever non-Packers match to be played at the LAMBEAU… How awesome is that? YOU COULD EVEN SAY IT’S BANANAS!

Do you like mascots? Who doesn’t? The team has been helping develop the Mascot Hall of Fame Awards, covering categories from professional, collegiate, high school, and even corporate characters engaging the public to determine winners for a variety of awards. Check out www.mascothalloffame.com to learn more and see who takes home a Golden Reggy!

We’re on the road again, to do some fun on the run with Goodwill. Now traveling to southern locations in lower Delaware, the team laughed, smiled, and celebrated the Goodwill employees for their hard work. This time was for them to ease off from work, have a restorative break, and have some fun.

Football (I mean Soccer) Action in Houston TX,

The Man City summer tour has finally started, sending us back out to Houston where Man City would meet Club America of the Mexican Liga for their first preseason match at NRG Stadium. We helped with a variety of fan engagements and activations throughout the city.  Check back next week to see where the tour heads next!

Jamie Hess’s Backyard Burn definitely had us breaking a sweat this week. An event that started during the pandemic, the Backyard Burn has become bigger, better and even included the kiddos this time around. We captured footage for a sizzle and feature spot highlighting one of her brand partners, Flintstones Vitamins. We are feeling better already!

Flintstones Fun Fact:  Flintstones Chewable Vitamins were introduced in 1968 with Fred Flintstone, Wilma Flintstone, Pebbles Flintstone, Barney Rubble, Bamm-Bamm Rubble, Dino, and The Great Gazoo, but Betty Rubble was added to the lineup in 1995, replacing the Flintstones’s car!

To switch gears a bit, the Delaware Business First monthly networking event took place, and we had a blast rubbing elbows! Delaware Business First is a great place to mix, mingle, and grow. Through these events business owners can create genuine relationships and collaborate to reach a common goal!

Fun with Goodwill of DE, Fitness and Friendship with Jamie Hess, Getting Ready for the DBCC Gala

We kicked off the week with Jamie Hess discussing details for her next Backyard Burn event on July 17th. The Backyard Burn series was created in the pandemic as a space for women to come together and celebrate fitness & friendship, while enjoying some fresh air and fun. The team will be capturing audio and video footage at the event to be used on social media to promote future events and highlight some sponsors.

With the Delaware Black Chamber of Commerce 2nd Annual Gala approaching, the team headed to the Chamber’s office to work out the final details and prepare for the upcoming event. Did you get your tickets yet? We will be there with bells on and can’t wait to celebrate and honor the Chamber and its members!

To wrap up the week, our company engagement division, The Fun Dept, went to several Goodwill locations to give them a chance to pause and unwind. This is the 1st of two groups The Fun Dept will be traveling to this month. The second being on July 28th, when they’re heading to southern locations. Definitely check back to see all the FUN and thrilling activities!

The 4th of July, Clean Air, and FUN!

This week started with the team celebrating Independence Day. We 4th-ed by engaging in activities like going to the beach, enjoying nature, and rooting on the Fightin Phils at Citizens Bank Park. How did you 4th this year?

Next, the team worked with the Air Quality Partnership of Delaware creatively planning for their Air Quality Awareness Week. One of our objectives is to create a custom Tropo social media filter to drive the “Clean Air Challenge” forward. We should all do our share to clean the air!

On top of that, the team is cooking up some fun for WSFS to help The Fun Dept create another video for their trivia challenge series all about integration.  We are excited to see the completion of this project and glad to see WSFS become a happier, healthier, and more connected workplace!

Restoring The Brandywine River (*and more)

This week the team attended a meeting with the Brandywine River Restoration Trust at AB and C ad agency. The intention was to take part in strategizing to help reach certain goals and objectives to restore the Brandywine River through a creative and collaborative approach!

Also, this week the team did a promo shoot for the #MILLSUMMIT conference, which is approaching August 2nd to the 4th. We helped with lighting, set design, and the overall creative direction of the shoots. The KC Team is also helping with production for the actual conference that you definitely have to check back with us to see all the action!

Giving some love to one of our passion projects, the team continued sifting through footage and piecing together the “Hands Down” documentary rough cut which is picking up steam. If you’re into action, be on the lookout for everything we have in store for the Hands Down Arm Wrestling Docu-Journey.

The Nemours Prom and A New Location for Delaware Business First

The Prom is finally here! This week was the Nemours Drive-in Prom, where kids who could not attend their own prom were given a chance to experience a night to remember. Our team helped with graphics, visuals, and promotion for the event. The event was emceed by Christopher Bruce along with his co-host Shane who kept the show rocking and rolling throughout the night and even gave the kids a demo on how to master the slingshot.

Also, this week was the Delaware Business First event hosted at Stitch House Brewery. This time around we are celebrating Caribbean Heritage Month with beautiful island music played on a steel drum by Atiba. As always, this monthly networking series is dedicated to bringing together business owners and entrepreneurs in the greater Brandywine Valley.

Next, we met with the Delaware Black Chamber of Commerce’s president, Ayanna, for a walkthrough at the Dupont Country Club to help coordinate and plan their 2nd annual fundraising gala on September 16th.

Lasty, we had an opportunity to fly out to Houston, Texas, to help with the Manchester City summer promo. Man City will travel to the US for two preseason games later this summer in preparation for the 2022/2023 season.
Yes, our arms were tired. #oldjokeoftheweek

Steaks, A Job Fair, and The Blue Rocks!

The team took a quick stroll down to Bardea Steak which is currently in the process of a soft opening with reservations. Bardea Steak sits beside the original Bardea restaurant with a shared patio that connects both places. We are creating what will eventually be a documentary on all the behind-the-scenes action at the new restaurant. We took photos and videos of the Bardea crew cutting dried aged steaks and Antimo showed us how they get down and dirty to get the perfect cut of meat. Are you hungry yet? We definitely are!

Next, this week our Chris Bruce attended Spur Impact’s job fair networking event at Frawley Stadium, home of the Wilmington Blue Rocks! Prospective employees and employers get to register for the event where the potential employees get to mingle, network, possibly land a job all while watching a great game of America’s pastime. Now that’s definitely nine innings of networking!

Also, The LLS Delaware Man & Woman of the Year grand finale at Deerfield Country Club was this week, where the showman himself Chris Bruce did another amazing job emceeing this event and really ending it with a bang. Like last time, this night was one to remember, and it is always a privilege to honor a local boy and girl who are blood cancer survivors.

In-Studio with The Jefferson Awards Winners

Jefferson Award winners came to the studio this week. Winners were in the studio to explain their stories more and discuss why the award is important to them. The King Creative crew set up the production with a green screen, cameras, and lights to bring the vision to life. We helped guide the conversation and help the winners express their thoughts and ideas. The Jefferson Awards brings attention to those who serve, and in doing so, generates ripples of good.

The Fun Dept was called for their expertise this week to help W.L. Gore to get down and experience their island side. The Gore team went through several team-building activities and even participated in a tiki hut bar challenge. That was refreshing to see…

Amongst other things the KC crew worked on Dcrac edits and prep for the Nemours prom. We coordinated with the stage crew to give the kids a prom they will always remember.
