Opera Delaware is a professional non-profit opera company committed to inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility. Founded in 1945, it is the only professional opera company in the state and the 11th oldest in the country, serving the entire metropolitan area of Wilmington. It is dedicated to bringing bold, vibrant, and creative operatic programming that enriches the community, transforms audiences, and encourages dialogue. The company has a reputation for excellence in both opera and arts education. It employs nearly 250 full and part-time local artists and staffers throughout the season with a $1.5 million annual budget.
